We are currently accepting applications for substitute teachers for all Peregrine School programs: Preschool (ages 18 months to 6 years) and elementary (grades K-6).

We are currently seeking an associate teacher for a grade 1-2 classroom, who may also do some work in our kindergarten. This is a full time job, 8-4:30 daily.


Long Term Sub (ELEMENTARY)

This is a long term substitute job from January through June, replacing a teacher on maternity leave. While there is no guarantee of continued work, we are a school with 60 employees and there is generally some new hiring each school year, so a person who fits in well with this school community may well find continued work.


— BA or BS degree

— Experience working with elementary age children in groups, ideally in a classroom setting

— Willingness and ideally experience with working in a project-based classroom setting

— Ideally, but not required, experience with science education


We are seeking a creative individual who would like to join Peregrine Elementary’s teaching team as a teaching aide for our after-school program (Kestrel Club) providing educational daycare for students 6-12 years old. Work next summer will also be available if desired.

  • 12 units of child development or related educational courses (to be evaluated by the Director—this is a licensed program so this is required)
  • Life long learner with academic interests in core subjects
  • Flexibility and initiative, responsibility and reliability
  • Experience working with elementary children aged 6-12
  • Willingness to support and forward a progressive philosophy of education which is child centered and inquiry based
  • Ability to plan and organize an after-school recreation-oriented program and to supervise an aide.
  • Willingness to work out of doors in an outdoor education oriented school
  • Understanding of and ability to apply a positive discipline approach which works with students 6-12 years old
  • Willing and able to commit to a 10 month school year employment contract
