Background on Peregrine School: Peregrine School is a nonprofit, Reggio Emilia-inspired private school that strives to integrate the rigorous academics of a classical liberal arts education with child-centered, project-based learning. Peregrine School currently operates two sites in Davis: an Early Childhood Center serving students from ages 2 – kindergarten and an elementary school for grades 1-6. Job Description:

Hours:  Peregrine School’s Primaria program includes curriculum hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and day care hours before and after school from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. five days a week. Teachers work all or part of these shifts. The particular duties vary according to the shift. Some Primaria teachers work only during curriculum hours, while others also complete time in the day care.  This is a professional job which will run for ten months (September 2012 through June 2013).

Compensation:  This is a salaried position with the salary negotiated in relation to the qualifications of the candidate.

Benefits:  Medical insurance is partially funded by Peregrine School through a group plan for staff working more than 25 hours/week.

*Substitute Teacher

We are currently accepting applications for substitute teachers and aides for all Peregrine School programs: Escuelita (ages 2-4), Primaria (pre-K/Kindergarten, ages 4-6) and Elementary (grades 1-6).

Qualifications: Associate's degree (AA/AS) or equivalent; one-to-three years related experience. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred. Twelve units of ECE or equivalent preferred. Willingness to work with others to create a positive, child-centered classroom community.

Compensation: $9/hour. Hours will vary as our programs operate between 7:00 am - 6:00 pm.
