     Peregrine's      Beginnings

When her son Sammy was born in 2004, Elena Whitcombe weighed the options for her son's education: homeschooling offered the ability to mold the cirriculum to his interests and learning pace, while public school offered opportunites for social growth.

Elena chose a third option: start a new school that focuses on each child's unique abilities, interests and learning styles. Together with her mother, Lorie Hammond, they founded the Peregrine School in 2007.

Overview

As an independent school, we finance our operations without help from federal, state, or local government funding. Although 70% of our income comes from student tuition, that revenue alone cannot sustain our superior level of education. We rely heavily on the generous contributions of parents, alumni, and others to meet immediate and long term expenses.
