Responsibility

In Reggio education, the child is an active protagonist rather than a passive recipient of learning. Here at Peregrine, our students exercise agency in their classroom and school environment through challenges which increase as they grow.

At Peregrine, we believe that social responsibility starts with taking care of yourself and of the people around you, and creating a caring community.  Our teachers work hard to create a sense of community in their classrooms, and to expose children to new people and new ideas!

Through our programs, social and environmental responsibility are critically examined through inquiry in science and social studies.  Students husband their school environment actively through developing and maintaining gardens and wildlife habitats.

Students also participate in community service learning by developingand maintaining a sustainable school environment and through student-innovated projects which soar beyond their school.
