Art Camps for Elementary Students Entering Grades 1-3

Our summer camp offerings for elementary students in grades 1 through 3 have an art focus this year. The theme of "Momentum" will span across two camp sessions, allowing students to explore the connections between physics, biology, the social world and art.  Students will have the opportunity to create art sculptures and paintings that will be featured in the Davis Art Center show on Momentum, in which Peregrine School is participating.

Early childhood educator and Primaria teacher Sonja White will also offer "Drawing with Scissors," where students will expore elements of design such as line, form, volume, rhythm, space and geometry within the context of collage, sculpture, architecture, toys and literary references with various new and recycled paper mediums.  The works of artists such as Matisse, Jen Stark, Su Blackwell and Sher Christopher will be used as references.

Camps will be held at our elementary school location in South Davis.  To register, students must be entering grades 1 through 3 in the fall of 2013.  Click here for more information, including session dates and costs.  A registration form may be downloaded by clicking here.  Registration forms and payment should be mailed to:

Media Camps for Elementary Students Entering Grades 4-8

Back by popular demand, writer and filmmaker Chris Erickson is offering intensive, one-week filmmaking workshops this summer for children in grades 4-8.  The workshops will include lessons in visual literacy, screenwriting, cinematography and editing.  Students will write an original screenplay of their own, while collaborating to produce the screenplay of their choice into five- to 10-minute film.  Participants also have ample opportunity to create additional stop motions, claymations, short films and trailers of their choice.  The finished films will be screened for friends and family at the end of the week, and each student will get a DVD copy of the movies to take home.  Films will also be submitted to DCTV Channel 15 for airplay!

New this summer, historian and literature buff Ethan Sorscher is launching a "Heroes Camp Series," also for students in grades 4-8.  Students will enter the world of their favorite characters, write their own hero story, and enjoy crafts, magic, games and cooking activities related to their theme.  Offerings will include Harry Potter, Fellowship of the Ring, Star Wars and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

These camps will be held at our elementary school location in South Davis.  To register, students must be entering grades 4 through 8 in the fall of 2013.  Click here for more information, including session dates and camp prices.  A registration form may be downloaded by clicking here.  Registration forms and payment should be mailed to:
