Fridays, 4:30 - 6:00 PM, grades K-6

Let’s explore the wonderful world of winter produce! Each week students will explore a different fruit or vegetable. We will taste it both raw and cooked and then use it in a few recipes. Through these recipes, we will learn new skills: how to weigh and measure ingredients correctly, proper knife techniques using practice knives, how to make bread dough, jam, soup and more. Students will work together on the recipes, try all the dishes we prepare and sometimes bring home some treats to share. Each week, students will come home with copies of the recipes to share with their families and new skills to help out at meal time.

Clay

CraftinG

Fridays, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, grades K-6

Students will hand-make their own colorful projects from plants to animals and anything they can imagine in-between through guided lessons supplemented by their own innovative ideas. Sculptures develop fine motor skills and attention to detail, as well as allowing students to develop their own creations. Sculptures are made of air-dry clay, mimicking Dough sculpture making. Finished projects are light, foam-like figures set on a base so they can be displayed. Multiple sculptures will be produced over the eight-week course, each one teaching new skills and techniques. All projects can be taken home by the students when completed.
