We've been rained out!
We're grateful to be receiving spring rain in our area especially after so many years of drought. However, precipitation in the forecast means this year's Fiesta just became more suitable for ducks than humans. If you pre-ordered Fiesta tickets, you will not be billed unless you opt to "make it rain" for Peregrine School: If you contact Margarita@peregrineschool.org before Friday, May 24 at 12:00 p.m., we can turn your Fiesta ticket dollars into a donation toward our annual fundraiser or into raffle tickets! That's right, we've extended the fundraiser and raffle by one week!

WHY DO WE FUNDRAISE?
For the last 3 years, Peregrine School has participated in the Big Day of Giving, a regional fundraiser for non-profits. The parent-led Fundraising Committee noticed that our BigDOG donors were always affiliated with Peregrine School in some capacity e.g., you, your family and friends. This year’s Fundraising Committee decided to mix things up! In lieu of BigDOG, we're fundraising in the weeks leading up to the Fiesta. In addition to this annual donation drive, at the Fiesta we'll have raffle drawings and business sponsorship opportunities.

Why is fundraising needed? Like most independent schools, Peregrine School faces the challenge that tuition alone covers only some of our expenses. All of the money raised goes to supporting our children’s education. Every donation does make a difference!

What is our fundraising goal this year? Last year you raised $25,000 for Peregrine School! With that money, we were able to enhance our indoor and outdoor preschool play spaces through the addition of a loft, a reading nook, laptops, a mud kitchen, outdoor climbing structures, more shade structures and improving our garden irrigation system. Donations also enabled us to install outdoor sinks for our elementary backyard and plant much needed shade trees in our concrete patio. You even provided our teachers with some amazing professional development opportunities. Donations make a huge impact at Peregrine School!
WHAT ARE WE FUNDRAISING FOR THIS YEAR?
ECC outdoor play spaces. More outdoor climbing structures and a grey water outdoor sink station for ECC SOUTH, a sensory table and climbing structure for ECC WEST …and so much more!

Elementary classroom enhancements. Each elementary classroom is home to a Peregrino for 1-2 years; it is the nest from where they take off for all of our SOARing opportunities to learn and grow. Funds will be allocated to elementary classrooms based on the needs of their current learning cycle.
Ongoing facilities projects. Our building is aging and in constant need of costly repair, maintenance and improvements. Did you know it costs approximately $13,000 to replace a single HVAC unit? We have 8! Over the next 5 years, we will have to replace our aging HVACS.

Professional development. Teachers are the cornerstone of Peregrine School’s educational philosophy. They mastermind academics that are engaging yet challenging for our children. Help keep their ideas fresh and innovative by supplementing our existing professional development budget. It costs approximately $1,500 to send 1 teacher to a 2-day conference.
