IN THE CLASSROOM
MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES
Our version of the “hundred languages of childhood” (Loris Malaguzzi) is to organize our program around Howard Gardner’s eight intelligences, which represent a rich array of possibilities for experiential learning. Click the slides to learn about each intelligence and see an example of how it applies to the toddler program:

DOCUMENTATION
In Reggio-inspired programs, teachers document students’ progress on a continuous basis. In the El Nido program, the eight intelligences are combined with DRDP (Child Development) standards. Teachers gather evidence through observation and record this in a portfolio, which is shared with parents on demand and at parent conferences. Eventually, it is taken home by parents.
