ADMISSIONS ADMINISTRATOR


Summary of Position:  

The Admissions Administrator works in close coordination with the Elementary and Preschool Directors, administration and faculty and assists with all aspects of admissions and enrollment. This position is based at Peregrine School South located on Lillard Drive and may occasionally require travel to marketing and outreach events e.g., farmers market. The desired individual will have an outgoing and friendly personality, demonstrate professionalism and tact in communications, strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills, and acute attention to detail. 


Responsibilities

  • Recruit, admit and enroll students. 

  • Create and execute admissions marketing campaign, including updating marketing material.

  • Database management.  

  • Track student enrollment data.

  • Present enrollment reports to the Board of Directors as needed.

  • Ensure annual admission and enrollment schedule is followed. 

  • Coordinate outreach events, including school tours, weekend and evening recruitment events, parent education nights, preschool and summer camp fairs. 

  • Coordinate Peregrine Elementary’s scholarship program and Flexible Tuition program. 

  • Assist faculty and the School Director in reviewing student applicants. 

  • Provide timely and accurate admissions information to prospective students, parents and other constituents by telephone, email and in-person.

  • Field and resolve parent inquiries and issues regarding admissions. 

 

Qualifications

  • Passionate about working in an educational setting.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills: clear, articulate, engaging, and professional.

  • Works well under pressure with ability to meet deadlines. 

  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to use information and computer technology. 

  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and Google suite.

Preferred Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in graphic design

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

  • Familiarity with managing and maintaining social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram)

KESTREL AIDe

Summary of Position:  

We are seeking a creative individual who would like to join Peregrine School’s teaching team as an assistant in our Elementary after-school daycare program, serving children 6-12 years old. You will be assisting the head teacher of the program in running fun and educational activities for students after school, providing a supportive environment for them to learn and play, and ensure that those who attend after-school classes make it to their classrooms and back in a safe and punctual manner.
This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to tackle a new challenge every day, and doesn't mind adjusting to meet the needs of a sometimes rapidly changing work environment.

Job Type: Part-time, Shift begins at 2:30 pm, and ends at 5:30 pm, although there may be days when opportunities arise to work until 6:00pm.

Summer School Teacher Counselor

Summary of Position:  

Peregrine School is seeking full-time teacher counselors for 8 weeks of summer school at our K-6 independent school. The job will extend from June 15- August 7, with a training day in advance of the starting date. Our target group is college students who intend to become teachers or who have experience working with elementary-aged children, but others may apply.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with elementary-aged children

  • Ability to plan and carry out lessons for groups of students, with some guidance from mentors

  • Willingness to work outside in summer in an environmental education-oriented program

  • Ability to manage a group of up to 15 students

Hours:

Shifts will vary to cover 7:00am-6:00pm summer school camp schedule, which includes teaching time and before- and after-care. Exact timing will be negotiated with each candidate for 40 hours per week.

Preschool Teachers

Summary of Job Description:

We are seeking creative individuals who would like to join Peregrine School’s teaching team as teachers in our preschool program providing educational daycare for students 18 months-5 years old. Peregrine School is currently hiring for all preschool programs for the 2019-2020 school year.

Qualifications:

  • Twelve (12) units of child development courses that qualify a candidate to become a Teacher according to California state licensing requirements for daycare centers. At least three (3) units must be infant/toddler development courses to work in the toddler program. Applicants may start with six (6) units if they are currently enrolled in more.

  • Life-long learner with academic interests in core subjects

  • Flexibility and initiative, responsibility and reliability

  • Experience working with preschool age children

  • Willingness to support and forward a progressive philosophy of education which is child centered and inquiry based

  • Willingness and ability to engage in play-based program

  • Willingness to work out of doors in an outdoor education oriented school

  • Understanding of and ability to apply a positive discipline approach which works with preschool students

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $13.00 to $14.00 /hour
