Compensation: $34,000 - $40,000 / Year
Hours: Full-Time, Exempt
Develop, implement, and evaluate the 1st/2nd grade program
Insure the program addresses and achieves its academic goals
Create and maintain a positive classroom community which meets students’ emotional and physical needs
Create a physically safe and attractive classroom environment
Make learning and behavior plans that suit individual students’ needs
Assess individual students’ progress and communicate students’ progress to parents
Supervise and mentor any assistants or specialists who work with your students
Communicate effectively and frequently with parents about program and school matters and about the needs and progress of their individual child
Collaborate with Elementary Director and other elementary staff to ensure that the 1st/2nd grade program is well articulated with other elementary programs
Collaborate with Elementary Director to cover extra and shared duties
Co-teaching roles: Share subject area duties, classroom duties, student management duties in an equitable way that facilitates efficiency
Attend faculty meetings and parent conferences
Participate in school events and other extensions of classroom work and school program

Summary of Position:
We are seeking a creative individual who would like to join Peregrine School’s teaching team as an assistant in our Elementary after-school daycare program, serving children 6-12 years old. You will be assisting the head teacher of the program in running fun and educational activities for students after school, providing a supportive environment for them to learn and play, and ensure that those who attend after-school classes make it to their classrooms and back in a safe and punctual manner.
This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to tackle a new challenge every day, and doesn't mind adjusting to meet the needs of a sometimes rapidly changing work environment.
Job Type: Part-time, Shift begins at 2:30 pm, and ends at 5:30 pm, although there may be days when opportunities arise to work until 6:00pm.

Summary of Job Description:
We are seeking creative individuals who would like to join Peregrine School’s teaching team as teachers in our preschool program providing educational daycare for students 18 months-5 years old. Peregrine School is currently hiring for all preschool programs for the 2019-2020 school year.
Twelve (12) units of child development courses that qualify a candidate to become a Teacher according to California state licensing requirements for daycare centers. At least three (3) units must be infant/toddler development courses to work in the toddler program. Applicants may start with six (6) units if they are currently enrolled in more.
Life-long learner with academic interests in core subjects
Flexibility and initiative, responsibility and reliability
Experience working with preschool age children
Willingness to support and forward a progressive philosophy of education which is child centered and inquiry based
Willingness and ability to engage in play-based program
Willingness to work out of doors in an outdoor education oriented school
Understanding of and ability to apply a positive discipline approach which works with preschool students

Salary: $13.00 to $15.00 /hour
