Saturday, September 9, 2023 / 10am - 12pm Peregrine School, 2650 Lillard Drive, Davis 95618 Free entry, with a suggested donation of $20 per family (but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds). Seating for the concerts is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates open at around 9:45am. Additionally, thanks to Trader Joe's for their snack donation. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Toes Will Be Tapping and Bodies Dancing As The Hank Biggs Band Rips Up Peregrine’s Stage! Peregrine School is thrilled to bring The Hank Biggs Band to the Peregrine School South campus on Saturday, September 9. Part of Peregrine’s 2023 Second Saturday Family Concert Series the concert and educational component are presented with support, in part, by a grant from the City of Davis Arts & Cultural Affairs program. The Hank Biggs Band is a 5-piece Swing and Jump Blues band, playing a mixture of original material and dance tune covers. They routinely perform in venues from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas (including multiple appearances at Viva Las Vegas, the largest Rockabilly festival in the world!). Regionally, the band has played The Torch Club, Sactown Swing; and the Placer, El Dorado, and Nevada County Fairs. The morning will begin with musical samples played by Biggs and other band members sharing how their individual histories lead them to Swing (the instrumentation of the group is 2 guitars, upright bass, drums, piano, and sax). The concert will begin after the presentation. When it comes to the concert, Biggs comments, “These days it’s all about dancing and having a good time to pure, unadulterated Swing!” Audience members are highly encouraged to dance and enjoy themselves! There is a suggested donation of $20, but no one will be turned away due to a lack of funds. The educational portion will be from 10 – 11am and the concert will be from 11 - 12pm. The public is invited to either, or both, the educational presentation and concert. The gates of Peregrine’s South campus (2650 Lillard Drive, Davis) will open at approximately 9:45am.
