Board of Directors

Chris Gold
Board Chair, Parent
Chris Gold joined the board in 2019 as a way to give back to the school in appreciation for all it did for his son. His involvement deepened during the pandemic, when his medical background became an invaluable asset as the school navigated a safe return to in-person learning. In his current role as Chair of the Board of Directors, Chris brings a disciplined approach to organization and facilitation, encouraging active participation and thoughtful discussion while helping the board stay focused, balanced, and productive.
Chris’s oldest son began in the Peregrine School’s TK program and continued through sixth grade, graduating in 2024. His youngest son started preschool in 2022 and is now progressing through the elementary grades. Chris values the school’s small, close-knit environment, which allows for meaningful teacher engagement and a personalized approach to learning that supports students’ growth both academically and socially. Reflecting on the contrasting personalities of his two sons—one an introvert, the other an extrovert—he appreciates the school’s ability to create a safe and inclusive space that honors each child’s individuality. He is especially drawn to Peregrine’s hands-on curriculum, which emphasizes experiential learning and the real-world application of academic skills, rather than rote memorization.
Originally from the Bay Area, Chris attended college in Southern California, where he completed both his medical education and residency training in plastic surgery. He enjoys early morning rowing several times a week with his teammates from the River City Rowing Club.
