Lisa Ayrapetyan began her involvement in the school’s governance by joining the Finance Committee, where she contributed her expertise in accounting and auditing to provide input on key financial decisions. In 2024, she expanded her involvement by joining the Board, seeking to extend her support beyond financial matters.
Lisa vividly recalls touring the South Peregrine campus and seeing elementary students walking seven feet above the ground on wooden planks strung between trees. She remembers thinking, “This is the kind of childhood I want for my kid!” Her daughter began her Peregrine journey in preschool as an extremely shy child and is now a more confident elementary student who is happily climbing trees and catching lizards with her friends in the beautiful outdoor playspace.
Lisa was born and raised in Uzbekistan, a former Soviet republic, where she experienced a regurgitation-style education that left little room for creativity (children were scolded in art class for drawing the wrong number of petals on a flower) and critical thinking. She is grateful to have access to an incredible school like Peregrine, which offers a strikingly different approach to learning—one that encourages curiosity, imagination, and independent thinking.
After immigrating to the United States, Lisa lived in Los Angeles before making Davis her forever home. She is a Certified Public Accountant who loves a good spreadsheet. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano and curling up with a good book and a cup of chamomile tea.
