School-wide Fall Events

With the start of the school year, fall is already a busy time for Peregrine School. By now, the classrooms have settled into their rhythms and routines. The students are making new friends and getting to know their new teachers. The teachers are ramping up their lesson plans, and filling the hallway bulletin boards with the students' projects.
And in the office, we are getting ready for all of fall's exciting events. This year we have some old favorites, like the Fun Run and the Multicultural Festival, along with a new event: the 9-2-5 Book Swap.
Read on to learn about our events and the ways that you can get involve.

9-2-5 Book Swap
California just declared 9/25 “Dolly Parton Day”. In honor of Parton’s commitment to children’s literacy, we will be hosting a book swap to commemorate the occasion. Here at Peregrine, we love to be eco-friendly, and if we can give working (9-to-5) parents a deadline to declutter their house, it’s all the better.
Bring in the children's books that your child has outgrown or the YA novels that your young adult has already read. Then send your child with a bag, and they can pick out some new-to-them books to take home. All leftover books will be donated.

Fun Run/Walk Fundraiser
This one mile fun run at our South Site 2650 Lillard Drive, Davis, CA 95618 is open to the public and raises money for Peregrine School’s Emergency Preschool Family Fund. This fund supports preschool families needing emergency tuition assistance. This fund continues in loving memory of Dr. Danielle Heard Mollel.
Each participant will register online to run or walk ($20 per adult 18+; $5 per child 1-17yrs), and can share each fundraising page with family, friends, and on social media.
Thanks to the businesses who have sponsored this event: Trader Joe’s, Shannon Chris, D.D.S., and Lamppost Pizza.
Saturday, October 10, 4pm-7pm
Multicultural Music and Arts Festival
Please join us for the Multicultural Music and Arts Festival. There will be live performances, a developmental art show featuring artwork from every Peregrine student, and dinner prepared by our own Chef Blanca. So far the menu is quesabirrias, quesadillas, rice, beans, and aquas frescas.
Attendance is free, and the meal will be available for purchase.
Want to get involved as a volunteer?
This year Peregrine is going to host a bake sale to go along with the event, which is open to the public. If you would like to prepare something to sell at the bake sale, or if you would like to volunteer to set up and run the bake sale table, please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A45AFA628A6F5C61-65852189-multicultural#/
